Early Life

 

Robert R. Noble was born on November 16th of 1921. The oldest son of James R. Noble and Edith P. Walker Noble, he was raised in a full home, having 6 siblings. Robert was raised in Nanty-Glo in Cambria county. There he completed his education and worked as a semi-skilled miner before he enlisted in Altoona PA on July 15, 1942. He married Pauline G Gallagher on December 23, 1942 when he was 21 years old. When the war began with the attack of Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 when Robert was 20 years old. He enlisted soon after and went to Europe when he was 22. He was a coal miner in St. Benedict PA. He lived at 319 Ashcraft Cresson PA, then later 331 Keystone Avenue, Cresson PA.
